Dragonfly Planters

Dragonfly Planters produce a range of wooden planters for vegetables, herbs and flowers. The planters are constructed from treated timber, all FSC sourced, use rust-proof screws and are lined with weed-control fabric. The vegetable planters all have removable dividers to all for different soil types. They are all roughly 700 millimetres high making it a more pleasant experience to work with. The exception is the Bairn which is ideally suited for children. However if you do want a different height then please do let me know as I can easily change the height up or down.

5% of every sale will be given towards Revive MS Support "Scotland’s leading provider of support for people living with MS and their families".

Notes:

• Units are in millimetres
• Dimensions are given as Width x Depth x Height
• All dimensions are approximate
• All timber is pressure treated with preservative at the sawmill
• All timber is typically FSC 70% mix i.e. ethically sourced
• All timber is rough sawn, meaning it has that rustic look
• All planters are lined with black weed control fabric
• There are gaps between the wood to allow for drainage
• The volume in Litres is taken as Width x Depth x Height
• All planters come assembled
• Zinc coated screws are used throughout for long life

Tips

• Put a layer of small stones on the bottom to aid drainage
• Prior to filling, ensure that you place the planter where you want it to go as it will get very heavy
• Once you have chosen the location, choose the appropriate plants for the available light
• Check what depth of soil is required for what you are planting
• You can use polystyrene blocks to fill in the base if you want shallower soil
• Use a winter fleece to protect your plants when the frost comes
• Ensure you feed and water your plants according to the instructions on the packet – too much water is as bad as too little.
• If going organic, then ensure that the fertiliser and weed killer are both certified organic
